We arrived in Charleston at about 8pm and desperately looked for a coffee shop so we could hop on the internet. The only place we could find was a Starbucks, but refused to use it, so we asked a local who told us of a nearby place called Kudu coffee. We didn't have a place to stay, and this time had no such luck with our lastminute couchsurf requesst. We were told of a local hostel which would come it at $20 each for a dorm or $50 for a private room, but you had to check in at 10pm by the latest. Drew then found a cheap motel nearby that would cost $47 for a room with two queen beds, so we opted for that and a solid night's sleep. Pizza in hand, we headed there, ate, heads hit the pillow, and our best sleep for a few nights was had.
Next morning we began what was probably my favourite day's travelling thus far...
